Cooking Recipe


  • 1 pound okra, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 (10.75 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth


  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Add the okra, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) and cook for 5 minutes, or until the okra is tender.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and chicken broth.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
  6. Serve hot.
