  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a third bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  7. Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
